start with a big heavy statement, most genre fiction is pretty rubbish, but then, even if things do not happen to find fantastic, at least interesting. And when you find something interesting that even our own, the thing we seem even more exciting. Why

curiosity. The curiosity to read a recent fantasy of a young Italian author. Nothing is. Why still
New Italian Epic?
apparently got to do a good law. For the giant (and obvious) allegory of our times, for what Wu Ming 1 defines "complexity and popular attitude" (much more the latter), for the continuous references to dozens of youth subcultures, on the ground to tell the story in a fantasy world populated by fantastic characters.
Why I like it?
Essentially I read something new, funny, interesting as a whole (though granted, as I said above) to the idea of \u200b\u200busing his personal fantasy world to criticize the company and for the proper recycling of themes that have been part time unmindful of the collective: it was easy to fall into pathos.
... ma? Why is there a but ...
Obviously there is a "but"! Several "but", otherwise the world would cry out to the masterpiece! The first giant "but" about the author, obviously as a person but as a writer: I do not want to see nor hear when I read your novel! Your presence disturbs me because it distracts me, if your character talks and it is as if you were talking to you, does not go well mica. Imagine then if all 3 brothers Cavaterra projections are divided into three passions of the author: John

now, I am certain the author I know from his blog, but I can assure you that his ego out too and feels.
it now? Then there are
lightness about the plot and characters, the good and the bad (fortunately not so clear the distinction, and that's good, too bad that here too the author's views and sympathies are so obvious to us understand everything from the start) but frankly they are trifles. There remains the idea very, very nice.
